Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - A flash flood watch is in effect for the entire viewing area through this evening.

According to Meteorologist Nick Kosir, "A very moist southerly flow will continue to stream into the area from Nevada. We will see a bit of a lull in the rain this morning and early afternoon. By late afternoon/early evening showers and thunderstorms will develop. There is a slight chance for severe weather again tonight with more hail, gusty winds, frequent lightning and heavy rainfall possible."

Several hours of showers and thunderstorms could produce up to one or more inches of rain in some locations.

Heavy rainfall is particularly dangerous in areas of steep terrain and near areas recently burned by wildfire activity where dangerous mudflows are much more likely.

Flooding of small creeks and over low lying saturated areas are possible too.

Be prepared to take quick action if heavy rainfall is observed nearby.

Know how to leave the area quickly and move to higher ground.
