By Joey Martin

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV) With Monday officially marking the first day of fall the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage decided it was as good of time as any to get a jump start on volunteer recruitment.

From 6 to 8 down at Centennial Park CEO of Girl Scouts of Silver Sage, Maureen O'Tool, spoke to mothers and volunteers about the upcoming year.

With over 5,000 girls making up the Silver Sage area, which includes all of southern Idaho, parts of Nevada and Oregon and even a few Indian reservations, the lack of volunteers in years past has been an issue…

“Last year we had almost 200 girls who couldn’t join a group because we couldn’t find troop leaders, assistances of facilitators. This year we have almost 20 girls who are looking for a troop.”

“So we look for troop leaders, assistant troop leaders, people to help with events, to be on out boards, to be in our committees… what’s your skill set? What’s your gift? How do you want to give back?... well take you.”
Said Maureen O’Tool, CEO Girl Scouts of SILVER Sage

If you, or if you know of anyone who would like to become a part of the Girl Scouts of America.
