ID Lawmaker In Danger Of Losing Concealed Weapons Permit
Boise, Idaho ( KBOI ) An Idaho lawmaker may lose his concealed weapons permit because of a guilty plea in a 1970's rape case.
Rep. Mark Patterson of Boise was charged with rape back in 1974 in Florida.
He pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of assault with intent to commit rape and received a withheld judgment and probation.
Ada County Spokeswoman Andrea Dearden confirmed this information to Boise TV station KBOI.
Patterson got his weapons permit in 2007. Now Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney has revoked that permit saying Patterson didn't disclose the withheld judgment.
But according to Dearden, state law allows lawmakers to keep firearms without a permit.
