Idaho Prison Remains In Lockdown Following Weekend Disturbance

Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - The Idaho Prison near Boise remains in lockdown following a Saturday night fight. Linda Sevison, the spokesperson for the Idaho Correctional Center said the inmate altercation happened shortly before 10 pm Saturday. Afterwards, the facility was placed on lockdown status. One inmate was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. He has since been returned to the prison. A correctional officer was also taken to the hospital for treatment and was later released.

The Idaho Department of Corrections and the Ada County Sheriff’s Office are conducting a criminal investigation. According to Sevison, the facility will remain in lockdown until it’s determined it’s appropriate to resume normal operations.
