UPDATE: Jerome Sheriff Deputies Looking For Burglary Suspect
Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Some new developments from Jerome county as Sheriff deputies continue to search for a person of interest following a growing string of home break-ins and burglaries.
Now they are searching for a white 2003 Mitsubishi Montero with personalized Idaho plates “MORENA”. The car was last seen in the Murtaugh and Kimberly areas. Earlier this Tuesday morning, Jerome Chief Deputy Jack Johnson said that they are searching for Brandon Avila, 20 who authorities say is wanted for questioning. Avila had been arrested for having a suspended driver’s license. Since then he was able to bond out of jail. Now, authorities believe he is tied to the burglaries. His last known address was in the Hazelton area.
Deputies say earlier, Avila was seen driving a light blue 2004 Ford Escort. This afternoon they located the car but found out Avila’s sister was driving it. She told authorities that her Mother had switched vehicles with her, giving her brother a white Mitsubishi.
Avila is described as 5-foot 5-inches tall, weighing 120 pounds and is an Hispanic male with Black hair and brown eyes. He also has a tattoo on his left bicep and left wrist. If you see him, you are asked to call 324-1911. Deputies say that some of the homes have had guns stolen so it’s possible that he may be armed.
