New Skate Park Helps Youth In The Community

By Stephanie Mead

Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Jerome Skate Park Coalition is $19,000 closer to building a skate park.

The group just received a grant worth $2,500 from the Gladys E. Langroise Advised Fund.

They already have $81,000 donated from both anonymous and public donations.

The park is expected to be 4,500 square feet, where residents of all ages are able to skate in a safe environment.

The park can only benefit the community says chair, Kathy Markus.

Markus adds, “I think it will help the Jerome community be more healthy, give then an activity to get out, get away from their TV's and get out and actually do physical activity.”

Donations are still being accepted and can be dropped off at DL Evans Bank.

They are hoping that the park will be completed by the spring of 2014.
