Kelley Fire Grows In Size

Featherville, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Kelley fire is now five times larger that it was Friday.

Humidity factored into the fire growing from just under 1,000 acres on Friday to 5,300 acres as of Saturday morning.

According to, the fire is burning in a steep, remote area seven miles southeast of Featherville.

More than 350 personnel are working on the blaze.

Closure List: The western boundary remains the same along the Boise/Sawtooth NF boundary to the #227 road near Featherville. From this point, the closure has increased from the #227 road immediately east of Featherville north along the boundary between the Sawtooth and Boise NF up and along the Bear Creek Jeep Trail. The trail is open but the area south is closed. The eastern boundary of the closure is the #079 road over Flex Summit, south to Big Smokey junction and south on the 227 road to Couch Summit. The road is open but the area to the west is closed. The south boundary is the Salt Bowns Road to the Boardman Pass Connector Trail following the Southfork Lime Creek Trail to the Lime Creek Trail to the Boise/Sawtooth NF Boundary. The south boundary road and trails are closed as well as the area north.
