Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A local Jerome Firefighter took part in a Memorial Stair Climb in Dallas Texas this last Saturday.

His goal was to honor those brave men and women who lost their lives on September 11th 2001.

To honor the New York City firefighters that lost their lives on that day...

Memorial Stair Climbs took place all over the country in early September.

For Firefighter Sean Kirk, he felt it was his duty to take part in one of these climbs.

Kirk along with 342 other firefighters from across the country climbed 110 stories of a building in Downtown Dallas.

Each firefighter was designated a specific individual who lost their lives that day.

For Kirk just being there and participating was a day he will never forget.

"To be able to take part in a memorial stair climb was very humbling for me... I felt honored, number one to be able to climb for Robert Parro who was on Engine 8 and perished on 9/11 but also to represent the firefighters here with the Jerome Fire Department."
Said Sean Kirk from the Jerome Fire Department

Along with the 343 firefighters... 70 Law Enforcement Officials also made the climb.

Those 70 officers also represented the 70 Officers that lost their live on 9/11.

The Dallas event raised over 75 thousand dollars for 4 separate charities throughout the firefighting community.
