Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Local Army Sergeant Amy Brice received the Purple Heart this afternoon for injuries she sustained in Iraq back in 2005.
The Purple Heart medal was presented to Sgt. Brice by the Idaho National Guard commanding general, Major General Gary L. Sayler inside the Twin Falls National Guard Armory.
The Purple Heart is awarded to United State military members who have been wounded in the line of duty.
And for Brice, the recognition she received from her country really helps in the healing process.
“It’s beyond belief, it’s fascinating, it’s wonderful… it means a lot to me. It shows that my injuries are being addressed and I can begin my healing.”
Said Army Sergeant Amy Brice.
