Local Man To Make Lasting Change

By Jay Michaels

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The number one New Year's resolution people make is to lose weight.

Aaron Lock weighed just over 150 pounds when he graduated from high school. Now 30 years later, he weighs 440 pounds and has a 60 inch waist. That's why he's decided it's time for a change, and he'll be participating in the 6 month long Magic Valley Weight Loss Challenge.

Lock says, "I hope to report success. My doctor's recommended 100 pounds in a year. And what I want to report is a substantial step in that direction."

It was the death of his 17 year old daughter Hannah, who died in a car accident a year ago, that forced him to take a hard look at his life, and helped him realize it was time to make a real and lasting change.

The Weight Loss Challenge kicks off at the YMCA on Elizabeth Boulevard this Saturday.

December 30, 2013.
