Making A Dangerous Intersection Safer

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) It's no surprise that most of the car accidents in Twin Falls take place near the intersection at Falls Avenue and Blue Lakes Boulevard. The Twin Falls Traffic Safety Committee is looking for your comments on how to make this intersection safer.

Capt. Anthony Barnhart with the Twin Falls Police Department says, "Primarily the cause of the crashes is failure to yield on left hand turns. So the vehicles are making a left hand turn and they just fail to yield to oncoming traffic."

Barnhart explains not all of the crashes take place right in the intersection, but many of them occur on the roads within 200 feet of that corner.

The Traffic Safety Committee meets at 9:00 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month in the Twin Falls City Council Chambers.
