Beware of rattlesnakes?

You may have seen a sign warning about the deadly snake near the Visitor’s Center and wondered if there is cause to be alarmed.

Well, be relieved, the sign is just a joke.

Tina Luper of Neilsen and Company explains the sign is meant to keep the public safe.

The goal is to keep visitors away from the rockwork in the roundabout in a light–hearted manner.

But is the sign warranted?

We asked some local residents what they thought.

Says Jennifer Duff, "I was startled at first and then I said okay, better stay back, better stay away and be careful."

Jon Cron adds, "I've seen a lot of people climbing on the rocks, like little kids trying to take pictures and stuff."

Feedback on the sign has been mixed, but overall the company is receiving positive comments.

There are no immediate plans to remove the signs.
