Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) It was a big day over at the Twin Falls Senior Center!
National Meals on Wheels Day and Mayor Don Hall took part in the fun.
He went out on a route to deliver meals; the senior center distributes more than 135 meals every day.
"There are people that need Meals on Wheels. They are homebound and unable to get out of the house, and they also have some medical conditions that prevent them from doing their own cooking. It's important they get a substantial meal, and a lot of times they need nutrients and need this meal," explains Jeanette Roe, Twin Falls Senior Center.
The Meals on Wheels program is the oldest and largest membership organization, supporting the national network of more than five thousand senior nutrition programs.
