By Paul Johnson

Oakley, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - An in-district transfer has filled the vacancy created with the departure of Oakley Elementary principal, Sean O’Brady. The school district announced that Brandi Bedke, who for the past five years has been the high school principal will make the transition at the end of the year.
Mrs. Bedke is excited to return and work with younger students. She looks forward to re-learning the fundamentals of elementary school life and matching the new standards with curriculum. When asked about her decision to move to the elementary school she cited her desire for more family time as the ultimate reason.
When asked what she is most proud of during her time at Oakley High School she says, “the relationships with students and working with such a collaborative staff”. She also cites the fact that many times over the years as sports teams have made their way to state tournaments, Oakley students have been the recipients of the State Academic Champions. She is quite proud of their athletic ability, but more proud of their academic ability.
Bedke received her undergraduate degree at Idaho State University and her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership through the University of Idaho. Mrs. Brandi Bedke taught for 15 years at Oakley Elementary prior to becoming principal of OHS. She was raised in Malta, Idaho and has lived in Oakley for 22 years. She and her husband, Brandon, have 3 children and are owners of Bedke K-Savy Ranch.
The position of Oakley High School is currently posted on the school district website.
