Las Vegas, Nevada (CNN) - OJ Simpson appeared in a Las Vegas court via video conference Thursday for a parole hearing.
KTVN-TV reports Simpson asked for his sentence to be reduced, saying he's been a model inmate in prison.
Simpson is serving a maximum 33-year sentence for his role in a 2007 hotel robbery.
Simpson claims he was recovering his own property from some sports memorabilia dealers.
He was convicted on a dozen charges, including kidnapping and armed robbery in his 2008 trial.
According to KTVN-TV, Simpson asked for parole on five charges.
A decision on whether to grant parole is expected next week.
