Oakland Raiders Cheerleader Suing For Low Pay

Berkeley, California (CNN) An Oakland Raiders cheerleader has filed a lawsuit against the team over pay.... Or really the lack thereof!

Identified in court papers only as "Lacy T"... She says her pay of just over 12-hundred dollars for the season amounted to less than 5-dollars-an -hour for appearances at games, rehearsals and charity events.

"Lacy T" says the team also sticks them with travel costs and levies "fines" that eat into their meager salary.

CNN host Brooke Baldwin interviewed "Lacy T" about what prompted her to file suit.

“Soon after the season started and I signed this legal contract, as you say, I started having some feelings that maybe things weren't so legal. I was working three times a week with practices. I was going to events, paying so much money out of pocket and, at that moment, I realized that was a lot different than the NBA. I didn't have any out of pocket expenses when I danced for the Golden State Warriors and I was paid an hourly wage for all hours worked. It didn't matter if it was practice or photoshoots and I received a paycheck every two weeks. When I took the contact home to my husband he immediately said, Lacy, let's get a second opinion on this,” she says.

Lacy T. is asking that the lawsuit move forward as a class action suit… so that all the Raiderettes could join.

She's also seeking restitution from the team.
