Oakley Population Grows With Pioneer Days

Oakley, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Oakley's famous Pioneer Days has been underway since last Tuesday and wrapped up with a parade Saturday afternoon.

City Administrator Jared Mitton couldn't remember how long pioneer days had been going on, but at least his entire life. The parade lined up at the high school and made its way down main street, past all the numerous activities.

The small community of Oakley easily doubles in size for the event.

Many residents count on pioneer days to bring family and friends back to town.

"It turns into a lot of community huge reunion time, so people plan year round to come back this time of year so you get to see a lot of friends," adds Mitton.

Pioneer Days isn't just for Oakley residents, Mitton invites everyone to come out next year and see just what small town hospitality is like.
