One Dead One Injured Following Early Morning Boise Crash

Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - One person is dead and another arrested with charges of vehicular manslaughter following a one vehicle accident early this Friday morning. Idaho State Police say the accident happened in the eastbound lane of State Highway 44 milemarker 20 near Glenwood. Andrew R. Cassell, 25 of Eagle was traveling westbound on 44 in a small car. His car left the roadway striking a power pole on the right shoulder. As a result, Cassell’s passenger, Aldina Eric, 21 of Boise, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. She was not wearing her seatbelt. Cassell was transported by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. Idaho State Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Troopers say costume material was found in the car and say the two may have been coming from a Halloween party.
State Street was closed for about an hour and a half after the crash but reopened before 5 a.m. for the morning commute.
