UPDATE: One Person Dead Following Hit And Run In Boise

UPDATE: Boise authorities say the suspect, Adam D. Weinert, Turned himself into police Sunday afternoon. He is being charged with leaving the scene of a crash resulting in injury or death. Weinert is believed to have been driving a light gold colored Ford Ranger pickup at the time of the crash.
Based on evidence gathered at the scene of the accident and through follow up investigation including citizen tips, officers identified Weinert as the suspect.

Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - Boise Police are investigating what appears to be a hit & run that left one man dead on State Street and Collister early this Friday morning.
At this time, evidence gathered by officers at the scene indicates a man was crossing the street on foot in the right westbound lane on State Street East of Collister when he was struck by a pickup. The incident took place at approximately 1:15 a.m. this morning, October 4th. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died of his injuries. The driver of the vehicle left the scene and has not yet been identified.
An immediate detailed search of the area did not locate the suspect vehicle.
The vehicle may be a light gold colored smaller pickup, possibly mid to late 90's Ford Ranger type pickup truck. The vehicle will most likely have damage to the front.
The incident remains under investigation, additional information will be released as it's appropriate for the investigation.
