Ririe, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) - The Idaho State Police say one person is dead following a single vehicle crash on U.S. 26, just west of Ririe. The victim was also the subject of a short pursuit earlier Sunday. Authorities say Tay. W. Misseldine, 23 of Idaho Falls was eastbound on U.S. 26 when at the intersection of 15th east and U.S. 26 he drifted off the right shoulder and overcorrected to the left causing the vehicle to rotate counter clockwise and cross the highway.
Misseldine left the north side US26, struck a highway sign, went through a fence, down the embankment of a gravel pit and overturned. Misseldine was not wearing his seatbelt and was thrown about the interior of his vehicle.
There were no witnesses to the crash but was reported by a passerby.
Idaho State Police investigators learned that Misseldine was a suspect in a stabbing in Idaho Falls the previous evening and had led Idaho Falls Police and Bonneville County Deputies in a short pursuit. The pursuit was discontinued because the identity of the driver, Misseldine was known.
