Petersen Felt Washington Was A Good 'Fit'

Los Angeles, California ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) PAC–12 Media Days are in full–swing and that means Washington will be at the forefront of questions.

At the helm of the program, former Boise State Coach Chris Petersen.
He explains the challenges of taking over a new program and what it meant to leave Boise.

Petersen says, "I love Boise, could have stayed there forever, but when the Washington opportunity came up I felt that I fit there and kind of felt like I needed to reinvent myself a little bit and this will be a growing opportunity. I know my life didn't get easier by any stretch. Saturdays will be much more difficult, every game is going to be a dog fight, I get that."

Washington went 9-4 last year under Steve Sarkisian, beating Boise State 38-6 opening game.

The Huskies open up the 2014 season August 30th at Hawaii.
