Popular Twin Falls Landmark Coming Down

By Andrew Reed

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A popular landmark is coming down in Twin Falls.

Construction crews are currently demoing the Big-T.

To locals it's known as a community pool that has been around since 1965.

The pool doesn't meet the current standards for the city of Twin Falls.

Lezamiz real estate owns the property and plans to put in residential housing.

"I think a lot of the locals are disappointed as are we. We would like to see the pool stay, it's nice for the community for a pool on this side of town. Unfortunately this is progress and we can't keep a building inhabited,” said Sid Lezamiz.

Demolition will be done within the coming weeks.

Construction of the new homes are expected to be completed next year.
