Preacher Fire Now Estimated at 33,867 Acres

Carey, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - Crews were able to gain ground on the Preacher Fire Wednesday, with the help of lower temperatures and light winds. The fire progression has slowed and is currently estimated at 33,867 acres.

The Incident Commander, Brian O’Donnell, has stated that the fire is now 60% contained, and crews are working to improve containment lines and mop up hot spots. The containment is still estimated for Thursday at 6:00 p.m. with a control time of 8:00 p.m. Saturday.
BLM wants to remind you, we are in high fire danger, check your vehicles before you leave the home. Make sure tow chains are tightened, so they don’t drag, tires are inflated corrected and remember, don’t park a tall dry grass.
