Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) An event held Wednesday evening kicks off the beginning of the Jerome County Fair.

"Obviously it starts next week and it's just a matter of getting people prepared mentally... you know, it's that time of year. Get out, it's one of the bigger events in Jerome County so we want to get people excited to come out," says Gary Warr, President, Jerome County Fair Board.

The Jerome County Fair starts Tuesday, August 6th.

The event Wednesday was to get business owners together to prepare for the fair.

This year's theme is 'Say Cheese' to celebrate the dairy industry in the area.

While offering many of the same events as year's past, there's a new featured event called Mud Bogs Saturday, August 10th.

Officials expect more than 30,000 people to attend the fair from Tuesday through Saturday.
