Santa Visits Magic Valley Regional Airport
Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV )
The Magic Valley Regional Airport invited special needs children, the Wishing Star Foundation, and St. Luke's to witness the annual ‘Santa Fly In’.
Santa, who flew in on a helicopter, says, “it’s just a great honor to be a part of this and help the community out, bring the Christmas spirit to the community.”
After witnessing Santa's entrance, kids are given a chance to tell him their wish list and receive some treats.
For many, it's an exciting time to get into the holiday season.
Spencer Vargas, one of the kids in the Wishing Star program, notes, “my dream job is to be a pilot so it’s pretty exciting going to the airport.”
Spencer is in remission, but he notes the importance of the event for other kids experiencing difficult times. Says Vargas, “I’m pretty excited for them and I feel good for them because they've finally finished feeling bad stuff and they are finally feeling a good feeling after a while.
Allie Vargas, president of the Magic Valley chapter of the Foundation, notes, “during Christmas time it’s especially hard for our wish families because they are in and out of the hospital all the time."
Using the Christmas spirit to put a smile on some deserving faces.
