UPDATE: Missing Boise Families Found Safe
UPDATE: 6:30 p.m. The Boise Police Department is reporting on its Facebook page that one of the officers just talked to one of the fathers. It turns out the families got stuck in a snowbank and walked 19 milies to a house in Prairie to call for help.
UPDATE 4:45 p.m.: Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The Boise Police says the last phone contact with the missing families was Saturday afternoon in the Lucky Peak - Arrow Rock area.
Authorities are focusing their search now in that direction.
Anyone with information, needs to call law enforcement immediately.
Boise, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) Five people have gone missing in southwest Idaho including two fathers and their three children. The Boise Police reports the families went for a drive on Saturday and never made it back home.
Deputies from Ada, Elmore, Owyhee and Boise County are assisting in the search for the missing families.
The men are John Julian, 38 and William Murkle, 34, both Boise residents. Julian’s children are Samantha, 8 and Isaac, 7. Murkle’s daughter is Megun, 10.
They were last seen around 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon in Boise. The family told police that the group left to take a drive and perhaps a hike near Lucky Peak or CJ Strike reservoir. They were supposed to be back by 5:00 p.m.
Phone calls are going to voicemail. Other attempts to locate their phones have not been successful. Boise Police has asked the deputies with Ada, Elmore and Boise Counties to continue the search on Sunday.
The families were driving a silver 2003 Ford Explorer with Utah license plates.
At this time, there is no evidence of foul play.
