Idaho Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) As the west continues to burn, many are wondering how something like this could be prevented.
Government officials are weighing in on fire prevention plans.
Senator Jim Risch believes that fuel management is mandatory and will put homeowners and fire fighters at ease.
"Because the fires are getting worse, because we have fuel build up on the public grounds that need to be removed. It'll make the firefighters jobs a lot easier, it'll make Idaho a lot safer, and we're working on it," adds Risch.
The senator also added that firefighters are doing an outstanding job in the midst of the Beaver Creek Fire.
