Softball Tournament Underway To Help Relay For Life

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Despite the wind, 16 teams from across southern Idaho picked up their mitts and bats to play in a softball tournament this weekend.

The Stand up to Cancer tourney is taking place at Harmon Park in Twin Falls.

Each team gets a minimum of four games at this two–day event.

In its first year, organizers hope for $3,000 in proceeds and donations.

"So all of the money that we collect just from team fees and donations, and things we sell will go to a team for the relay for life event later in May," explains Leia Trammel, a co-organizer of the event.

Games pick up at nine in the morning. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in each division.
