Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) Some Idaho students attend school without having to step on a school bus each morning or walk into a classroom.
They simply log on to school each day.
One of these online schools, Connections Academy, held an information session Thursday night at the Shilo Inn.
The online public school works like a charter with no tuition fees, and it provides the books, computers, and teaching staff.
With over eight hundred students in Idaho and growing, it is looked at as an alternative way to school.
Students are also able to participate in sports and other activities through their traditional schools.
"Online education is exploding really in the K - 12 market. It's very successful for students that are looking for something different. Not only does it allow them to have that freedom to be away from the brick and mortar schedule, but it teaches them the benefits of online education," explains Mark Plummer, master teacher.
