Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) It's no secret Southern Idaho has been hot this summer.. But there are lots of ways to beat the heat.
Twin Falls has plenty of options for those looking for a way to stay cool, including The City Pool at the YMCA.
"it gets you away from the heat, there's not a lot you can do about the heat right now but it's a good way to cool you down," says John Pauley, Aquatics Director, YMCA.
Many families are taking advantage of the Y as a place to combine enjoyment and learning.
"They just love to be in the water on a hot day and be in the water with other kids and they love their instructor Lindsay and its just been a fun opportunity for them to learn how to swim," says Kersten Baker.
The pool is open 7 days a week.
For those looking to avoid large crowds, the pool is often least crowded on the weekends.
Another great option is family fun center, Hop 2 It.
" We have everything from a ball pit to a obstacle course, slides, to bounce houses, to Jousting center so there's a lot to do," says owner Sam Gertsch.
And for parents Hop 2 It provides free Wifi and a comfortable place to watch their kids.
"It's too hot outside it's nice and cool inside you can sit and relax, food, and the kids pretty much go off on their own," says Lorene Mahan.
And parents, don't get discouraged, there's no age restriction.. So feel free to participate with your kids.
Wholesome family fun for kids of all ages.
