Teachers Work At Dairy Queen For Good Cause

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) For the last two weeks, students at Canyon Ridge High School have been raising money for a good cause.

On Saturday, with the help of Dairy Queen, they're getting closer and closer to their goal.

Teachers dressed as Dairy Queen employees and served the patrons of the restaurant.

They learned the ropes and of course had some guidance from other employees.

Dairy Queen is giving 20% of its proceeds to Pennies for Possibilities.

The money helps area families with basic necessities and Christmas presents.

Karlie Haskins, a junior at CRHS says, "they're all families in the community that have suffered hardships this year, like one family their house burned down last week, and then another one boy has chemo and has to go through chemo after Christmas."

"It's really cool to be involved with something like this because you know you are going to be helping families and it's just cool to be giving back," adds Kennedy Stenger, also a junior at CRHS.

Last year students raised $15,000 for Pennies for Possibilities and this year they hope for $18,000.
