Teen Charged With Joy Riding, Leaving The Scene

UPDATE: In December 2014, according to court records Judge Blaine Cannon dismissed after judgment was withheld for the charges of Inattentive or Careless Driving and failure to purchase of an invalid license. Each carried a fine of $152.50. The charges of leaving the scene of an accident, Resisting or obstructing an officer and failure to provide proof of Insurance were dismissed by the court.

Cassia County, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) A California teen is charged with joy riding and leaving the scene of an accident Saturday morning in Cassia County.

Idaho State Police says 18-year old Gavin Keltner was headed east on Interstate 84 near Idahome Road when he drove off the left side of the roadway.

He ended up crashing the car and fleeing the scene. Deputies tracked him down and arrested him.

He was also charged with driving without a license or insurance, careless driving, as well as resisting and obstructing law enforcement officers.
