The 30th Annual International Gift Sale Has Begun In Filer
Filer, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The 30th annual International Gift Sale is underway in Filer.
The sale features fairly-traded craft items from over 30 countries around the world.
Many of the items are supplied by "Ten Thousand Villages".
This is a non-profit marketing program that helps individuals provide food, shelter, education and health care for their families.
"Everything here is fair trade. That means the artisans were paid a fair living wage. It means their kids are enrolled in school, and it means that we have long-term contracts with them. If the shipment comes in broken, we go back to them and figure out a better way to pack it and they still get paid, and we improve the process," explained Anna Belt, director of Dunia Marketplace.
The event is held at the Filer Mennonite Church and runs through Saturday.
Thursday's and Friday's hours are from nine to eight and then from nine to five on Saturday.
