Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) The streets are white, and for local roads, that means snow plow season is here.
Plows will maintain roads on a priority basis, with snow levels of at least 4 to 6 inches.
Some tips to remember to keep your streets safe:
It's better to park in driveways and keep trash cans off the streets to facilitate plow access.
Keep a fire hydrant in the clear so that fire officials can easily get to them.
When driving behind plows, leave at least thirty feet of room.
And plan extra time to get to your destination so you aren't driving in a rush.
“We have been putting out salt and sand to prevent crashes at intersections and stop signs and stop lights. We're prepared to plow snow, we just haven't had to do it yet,” explains Walt Appell, Jerome Public Works Director.
