Transgender Mayor Sells Shoes For City

By KMVT News

Silverton, Oregon (CNN) The nation's first openly transgender mayor is now opening his closet doors to get cash for his city.

Silverton Mayor Stu Rasmussen is selling his shoes online.

He's marketing them as collector's items.

As an elected official, Rasmussen can't personally profit from being in office.

He said instead, the proceeds from his shoe sales can be a tax-deductible donation to the city.

"I've got all day shoes. I've got eight-hour shoes, two-hour shoes, 30-minute shoes and 'come over here and look at my shoes' shoes," he says.

The prices for the shoes range from hundreds to thousands of dollars on e-bay.
