UPDATE: Twin Falls Man Arrested Following Jerome County Wreck
UPDATE: Clifford Keipper has been arrested on a probation violation following Saturday night's wreck. Meanwhile, it took crews most of Sunday to get his pickup out of the canyon.
ORIGINAL STORY: Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV) Jerome County investigators are still putting together the pieces of what happened Saturday night near Scott's Pond.
Twin Falls resident Clifford Keipper and another man were camping and drinking in the area of 580 South, 200 West.
Jerome County Sheriff Doug McFall says a vehicle went over an embankment about 400 feet west of Scott's Pond and rolled about 70 feet, coming to rest on its wheels.
Local citizens happened to be testing their Off Road Vehicle at the time, were driving by and saw the flashing lights. They called for help.
A witness puts Keipper in the driver's seat of the car. He was injured and transported to St. Luke's Magic Valley.
But Keipper told authorities he was not the driver and that he was with another guy. A search commenced for the other man who was found asleep in a tent. At this point, authorities don't have enough evidence to place the other man in the crash.
McFall says the wreck is alcohol-involved and they're still investigating.
Jerome Rural Fire, Jerome County Search and Rescue, Jerome County Paramedics, plus Air St. Luke's were among the agencies who also responded.
