100 Students Jump Rope, Raise Money For Hearts

By Jay Michaels

Twin Falls, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KTWT-TV ) This afternoon, students at Lincoln Elementary School "Jumped Rope for Heart." Students raised money for the American Heart Association.

The school's PE teacher explains many of the students' families have been directly affected by heart disease, and he finds that somewhat surprising.

PE teacher Jade Garcia says, "I don't know how much they raised. I collected it today, I will know Monday or Tuesday when I get to go through all the envelopes."

This year the students hope to raise $3,000. If they're successful, they'll have "a big water fight" on the school field.
