10th Annual Chocolate Extravaganza At Twin Falls County Fair
Filer, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV )
In its tenth year, the Chocolate Extravaganza offers a fun platform for talented bakers across the Magic Valley.
The contest is divided into five different categories: pie, cheesecake, chocolate cake, cookies, and candy.
Participant Ellouise Webb noted, "It feels good to know the people like my food and I could bake good brownies. It's my niece's recipe and I have another frosting recipe that I cut out of a magazine and they seem to work pretty good."
The contest featured a number of different entries, which were scored by a total of 8 different judges.
When discussing the what judges are looking for, superintendent of the Kitchen Pantry Marie Webb said, "I'm sure taste is the most important but presentation is an important issue too."
Entries were down this year, but that didn't prevent people from coming out and enjoying the different treats.
Atkins explains, "I love the fair, I love making the brownies and the fair has always been one of my favorite things ever since I was a little child. I just like to see the fair keep going."
Although there can only be one favorite...
At the Chocolate Extravaganza, everyone wins, with the desserts being divided up for attendees to try.
A sweet contest that continues year after year.
