Local Heroes honored
TWIN FALLS, ID (KMVT-TV) Heroes are many times just ordinary people who do extraordinary things. Two people were recently honored by the South Central Public Health District with their annual hero awards. Out of a total of ten nominations three are chosen. One health hero winner is Sandy White a nurse at St. Luke's Mountain State Tumor Institute. She works with cancer patients, and is a cancer survivor herself. Kent Alexander is another receiving the health hero award. A pharmacist with Dick's Pharmacy, he's worked closely with the health district. The group award goes to the hunger coalition from Blaine County. An award that officials say couldn't just go to one person.
