A Burley resident who received a rare five organ transplant in 2001 has been re–admitted to a Utah hospital.

Michael Pollard was admitted to the University of Utah Medical Center in late November and is said to be heavily sedated. Pollard was diagnosed with Hollow Viscous Myopathy before the transplant operation – a disease that causes the digestive system to stop working.

Since receiving his transplants six years ago – Pollard has been a tireless advocate for organ donation. Pollard and his wife Tammi have five children.
