TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT-TV) Neuhoff Communications and FOX Broadcasting Company have signed an agreement to launch a new FOX affiliate in the Twin Falls, Idaho, DMA #191. The announcement was made by Neuhoff Communications President and CEO, Geoffrey Neuhoff.
The station will be known as FOX 14 and will broadcast in high-definition over KTWT-LP, channel 14. Neuhoff Communications is also the local Twin Falls affiliate for CBS, The CW and MY Network TV. Neuhoff plans to reinvent the FOX Network for Southern Idaho with a solid syndicated lineup and the addition of three local HD newscasts per day. Neuhoff Communications is the television market leader in the Twin Falls DMA and is consistently ranked as one of the top CBS and CW affiliates in the country.
“It is a huge thrill for us to welcome the Southern Idaho FOX affiliation to Neuhoff Communications. I believe the addition of FOX’s first-rate programming will be a huge plus for our company, viewers and advertisers. Adding FOX to our lineup also deepens our company’s commitment to the Magic Valley and for that I am very proud.” said Mr. Neuhoff. “We have big goals for FOX14 and they include local newscasts. When we launch FOX 14 on July 1st, Neuhoff Communications will be producing a total of 24 ½ hours of local news per week in the Twin Falls market. This is up from just 6 hours of local news per week in October of 2010. I believe our broadcast and digital assets are the best in Idaho, if not the West.”
“We think it's tremendous that we will have local ownership with deep ties to the community in Twin Falls," said Jon Hookstratten, Executive Vice President of Network Distribution for FOX. "We are confident that Chris Pruitt and the team at Neuhoff Communications will make FOX 14 an outstanding FOX affiliate." Chris Pruitt is Vice President and General Manager of KMVT and KTWT.
Mike Hulvey, Neuhoff Communications Vice President-Operations said, “With the addition of FOX programming to our current offerings in Southern Idaho, viewers now have the greatest combination possible of the best powerhouse networks in FOX, CBS, CW and My Network TV. This also means all major sports properties including MLB, NASCAR, NFL Football, college football, PGA Golf and NCAA Basketball are all under one roof.”
FOX 14 will replace Intermountain West Communications Company KXTF Channel 35 whose affiliation agreement with FOX expires on June 30, 2012.
