Tree Removal For Driver Safety Along Idaho 46 Between Wendell And Buhl Next Week
Buhl, Idaho (KMT-TV) Beginning Monday July 16, crews will begin removal of trees hazardous to drivers along Idaho 46 between Buhl and Wendell.
About 100 trees have been marked for removal from the newly acquired ITD right-of-way throughout the 15-mile corridor. The trees are growing within the area purchased prior to the acquisition of the roadway by the State of Idaho for the extension of Idaho 46 in 2010. The trees present a hazard within the safety clear zone and block visibility at several locations. The removal will allow state forces to perform additional maintenance to the roadway shoulders and will improve safety along the roadway. Work is expected to begin in Buhl on Monday and continue for about three weeks as crews work toward Wendell. Drivers could encounter delays of uncertain duration when crews are present. Watch for flaggers and work traffic from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route if possible. For about three days beginning Tuesday July 17, traffic will be detoured between 4300 and 4400 North Roads east to 1600 East Road during working hours as crews cut several large trees that require use of a crane. Drivers are urged to use caution on the detour route. Comments ( Most Viewed |
