UPDATED INFORMATION: In a e-mail to KMVT news, a motorist said she and her husband were on Highway 93 just about to use the Westbound on ramp to I-84 when they noticed what appeared to possibly be a nylon seat cover on the side of the road burning. The fire was small at the time. The driver along with another person who stopped on the side of the road, attempted to stomp the fire out while the passenger called 911, according to the e-mail. They were unsuccessful in putting the fire out which spread very quickly.

UPDATED INFORMATION 5:00PM. BLM Spokeswoman Kyli Gough has arrived on scene. She said the fire is now down to smoldering. They have not officially announced containment or control of the fire, but it is in the Mop Up stage.

UPDATED INFORMATION 4:50PM. BLM Spokeswoman Kyli Gough said the fire is now officially called the Clover Leaf fire. They have 3 engines and air attack equipment with crews assisting with the fire.

UPDATED INFORMATION 4:35PM. Fire fighters are getting some assistance from an Air Tanker.

UPDATE INFORMATION 4:25PM. The Westbound on-ramp to I-84 was closed due to the fact that the fire is right next to the road. Also, the fire has jumped the road. Motorists are urged to find alternate routes and avoid the intersection.

Jerome, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - Fire Crews are working to try and gain control of a fast moving brush fire near the Flying J Truck stop at the Highway 93/I-84 Junction in Jerome County. The fire was reported at 4pm this afternoon. Jerome Rural Fire department was the first to respond.
