Fire Burning Southeast Of Twin Falls

Cassia County, Idaho (KMVT-TV) – A fire 15 miles south east of Twin Falls continues to burn today on Forest Service land. Julie Thomas with the Sawtooth National Forest said that a type 1 management team will arrive today to assist firefighters in battling the blaze. It’s expected about 70 personnel will be on scene working to gain control of the 8800 acre lightning sparked fire. That fire began Sunday afternoon when a storm passed through the area. The fire is burning mostly Juniper and brush but there is some timber on fire in one area. The fire is being called the Cave Canyon Complex fire. The fire is listed as zero percent contained and officials are not able to say when they will be getting the upper hand on the blaze.
