Halstead Fire Now At 124,892 Acres
Stanley, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - Firefighters continue to battle the Halstead fire, three miles north of Stanley. Today officials are saying 124,892 acres have burned and have put containment at 7%. The fire grew 900 acres yesterday, a significant decrease from the day before when it grew by over 7,000 acres.
Today firefighters are trying to keep the west side of the fire from crossing west of Marsh Creek, using the creek as a natural fire barrier. 544 firefighters are working to contain the flames. That includes six and crews, 33 engines and eight helicopters.
