Accident Near Burley Claims the Life Of Nampa Resident
Burley, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - The storm that passed through the area is to blame for a vehicle accident that claimed the life of a Nampa resident. Idaho State Police say the accident at about 5:15pm this afternoon happened on Interstate 84 near milepost 225 east of Burley. Authorities with the Idaho State Police say a 2007 Honda Accord, driven by Rosemarie Edvalson, 56 of Eagle, was traveling westbound when she changed lanes after passing another vehicle. Edvalson’s vehicle then hydroplaned in a large puddle that formed in the lanes of travel due to severe weather that was occurring in the area. Edvalson's vehicle flipped and landed upside-down off of the roadway in a large amount of standing water. Edvalson and her passenger, Juanita Spitzer, 75 of Nampa, were extricated and transported to Cassia Regional Medical center for treatment of their injuries. At about 9:15 pm police issued a statement that said Juanita Spitzer succumbed to her injures at the hospital.
