By Paul Johnson

Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - The City of Twin Falls will begin selling the historical downtown parking meters for half price beginning
Tuesday, Sept. 11th.
Twin Falls City Councilman Shawn Barigar announced Monday during a city council meeting that the
price would be reduced to sell off any remaining inventory.
The public may purchase the meters for half price at the Twin Falls Parks & Recreation building located
at 136 Maxwell Avenue. As of Tuesday, eighty five single-head mechanical parking meters were available
for $100 each; twenty three double-head mechanical meters were available for $60 each; fifteen
single-head LED meters were available for $25 and one double-head LED meter were available for $25.
All proceeds from the auctions and sale of meters will go toward an investment in downtown projects
that will be determined by the city council.
All meters were functioning prior to being removed from downtown and will be sold “as is.” A key is
available to unlock and open meters at the time of purchase, but keys will not be sold with the meters
due to their limited quantity. Buyers may also seek the services of a private locksmith to open or replace
the locks on the meters.
To contact the Parks and Recreation Department, call 208-736-2265 between the hours of 7:30 a.m.
and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
