Wolves in Idaho will be managed by the state beginning Friday

By Gina Jameson

If all goes as planned, Idaho and five other western states will take over management of wolves from the federal government on Friday.

Federal officials predict little change in how the animals are managed in most places, but in much of Wyoming, wolves will become fair game to whoever wants to kill them.

Idaho's limited wolf hunting season won't occur until fall.

In addition to Idaho and Wyoming - Montana - Oregon - Utah - and Washington State will take over management of wolfs from the federal government.
