Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - Friday's homecoming parade for the Twin Falls High School will disrupt downtown traffic for about an hour and a half. The parade is scheduled to begin 4pm Friday afternoon with the floats setting up at the 500 block of Main Avenue North. The parade will proceed east on Main Avenue until it ends at the intersection of Main Avenue South and Murtaugh Street East. The parade route will be closed from 3:30 to 5pm. Police say motorists can get across Main Avenue by using Washington Street to the west and Blue Lakes Boulevard to the east. Various police agencies and citizen volunteers will help control traffic along the parade route. The Twin Falls Police would like everyone to be aware of the following:

In the past, there have been instances in which small children have been injured after running onto the roadway to gather candy thrown to them from passing floats. The Police Department asks that all parents attending the parade watch their children closely and restrain
them from running onto the roadway.

All of the parade participants in the parade have been warned that throwing candy from their float will be cause to escort their float from the parade.

In order to prevent parking congestion, please park your vehicles two to four blocks away from the parade route. Be careful to allow yourself enough time to walk to the parade route and please do not block the driveway to any home or business.
