Buhl, Idaho (KMVT-TV) – Minor intersection improvements will be completed during the next few weeks at the U.S. 30/Idaho 46 junction with installation of traffic-detection cameras and pavement work, the Idaho Transportation Department announced.
Work will begin at the intersection of Broadway and Clear Lake Road on Wednesday Oct. 3 as workers install cameras on the signal arms in preparation for a roadway-resurfacing project expected to begin the following week.
The overhead detection cameras will replace the underground system of magnetic detection “loops,” a portion of which will be destroyed during the subsequent paving project. There will be short-term lane closures during installation.
Beginning Tuesday Oct. 9, crews will mill rutted areas of asphalt and repaving about 100 feet of Clear Lake Road north from the intersection. Work is expected to be completed in two days.
The roadway will be reduced to one lane. Drivers should watch for flaggers directing traffic through the work zone. Drivers are urged to use caution through the intersection and watch for crew members and equipment from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 9 and 10.
